Accessories & Storage

Accessories are the quiet infrastructure of a guitar collection. This page tracks the things already in regular use and the practical projects needed to store, protect, maintain, and enjoy the instruments.

Category Current setup
Picks Gibson picks as the usual choice, plus alternatives collected over time
Cables A set of good-quality instrument cables
Tuners Several digital clip-on tuners
Capos Several capos for acoustic and song practice
Straps A small group of guitar straps
Maintenance Gibson-oriented vintage cleaning and care products, with other tools still to inventory

The first dedicated case-storage purchase is a String Swing CC29 Guitar Case Floor Rack. It was chosen to begin organising multiple hardshell cases, including wider Gibson cases, without stacking them against walls or furniture.

The rack still needs a real-world review: stability with mixed case sizes, fit for the SJ-200 and ES-335 cases, floor depth, padding, and whether another rack is eventually needed for guitars that live outside their cases.

Gibson Custom instruments use sensitive nitrocellulose finishes. Any stand, hanger, padding, display cabinet, or cleaning product needs a material check before it touches a bare guitar for long periods. Case-storage capacity should also be judged by loaded weight and case width, not only by the advertised number of slots.
